Podcast Script

These are all things I have to ponder from time to time, being that I have made my way in the world by capitalizing on my ability to find the newest tools, opportunities and outlets to sell to customers as the next viable way for them to reach the maximum number of potential or even existing customers possible.

Historically, selling online has been the way I've built my reputation and portfolio of successful websites, campaigns and online storefronts, but, until recently, social media wasn't really a part of that, it was a combination of traditional marketing and advertising techniques designed to hopefully drive people to their computers and punch in our address.

So, the advent of social media wasn't initially supposed to be this tool that it has become in the last few years. For instance in 2008 when I started a Twitter account for a business I was working with, almost as an experiment, it took me a good week or convincing to get the owner to come around and see that what I was doing had the potential to reach a mass audience instantly and drive traffic to the website to eventually be converted into sales. Now, that isnt how I pushed it, but these small little tools that 6 years ago were neat little niche tools that could help us simply promote and maybe drive traffic are now the portals and promotional juggernauts that let companies build, thrive and maintain transparent relationships with their audience, as vast or as small as that group may be.

I think moving forward, things like Facebook and Twitter, the two most effective in my experience, will maintain their dominance, they are at a critical mass all the time, way too big to fail, but now, big enough to capture the ideas and talent needed to maintain the kind of growth and longevity of a dominant business model that 10 years ago was nothing more than longshot at best.

The buying and selling on American institution – shilling for the NFL, the ESPN story

So, maybe I didnt know who Bill Simmons was by name, I spelled it with a D, but I know Grantland.com, I know @30for30, we all know or have been touched by some excellent piece of sports journalism that this man has produced, its a hand down no brainer.

So, when I read so and so, Bill who ever got suspended by ESPN, I figured another one of their headline whores said some stupid shit on the air and yada, yada, yada, who cares?

Then I read that this happened not on the air, but on a PODCAST? What the F. Lee Bailey? Are you shitting me? Since when is ESPN the gestapo of the internet airwaves that they think they have the right and the ability to blast anyone like this, dude must be small potatoes, fishing for some attention, air time, hit on his youtube to pay a cocaine debt, buy a pet mongoose or pay for a night with that woman with a third breast... who am I to judge.

But oh shit, BILL SIMMONS, oh hell no, I know who this dude is... WTF?

Sick it what it made me. Honestly. Ive been involved in every aspect of podcasting since it was hardly a thing back in 2004, do you know the kind of bile and insanity Ive heard? Do you know what goes on on these free for alls? Its insane, its real, its unedited, unregulated and the last real piece of honest opinion and interview you can find anywhere online, off line, where ever. To have the audacity to censor someone for what is said on a podcast is just insane.

IT MUST HAVE BEEN GOD AWFUL. Did he praise Jimmy the Greek and a visionary, call for the immediate release of OJ SImpson or claim G. Gordon Liddy was calling the plays for the Raiders from his prison cell for the 1976 Super Bowl?

No. He said Roger Goodell is a liar.

Ohhhhhhh.

Dude, Bill, come on. Ive never even been to Bristol and I know that ESPN is a shill for the NFL. From covering up (pulling out of Front Line head trauma documentary) to cleaning up (Ray Rice, Adiran Peterson mess)  to flat out propaganda campaigns (Tim Tebow nonsense campaign), the network ESPN has done nothing but propagate the myth that anything that come out of the Commissioners office is real, true and infallible and anything that comes out of Chris Berman's mouth is

PURE GOLD. You cant trust people like this, its the plain and simple truth.

the beginning of the end

Ok, I figured with all the things I have going, simplifying my approach to life and activities/responsibilities and priorities should be revised, changed and simplified. So, to follow that line of thinking, I have, one day out, decided to, as well as I am able, blog about the football season. Once, maybe twice a week, whatever. Its only like what 12 weeks long? Not like it a hockey season or anything… What I need is suggestions on a name for this lovely piece that will eventually turn into a coffee table book or at very least poor excuse for an independent movie. Give me your worst.
